My name is Jamie and I founded JGM Software in January 2012 as a name for me to develop basic Android apps under whilst still at school. Since then, I have developed software for a variety of operating systems including Android, Windows and Windows Phone. I have also worked with several clients to help them build a web presence, and provide technical assistance and IT knowledge.
Whilst still at school in 2012, I won the Best IT Director award from Young Enterprise in Edinburgh & The Lothians for my work developing apps and a website for a young enterprise project where school students made and sold jewellery.
I currently study Computer Science at the School of Informatics at The University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Whilst here, I have taken part in an open data hackathon, where my team placed first in the “Best Data Mashup” category. As well as studying for my degree, I work with Microsoft as a Student Partner for The University of Edinburgh, a role which includes technical assistance, developer evangelising and organising events.
My current project is EdinburghBus, a Windows Phone app that links in with the City of Edinburgh Council’s BusTracker API to provide Windows Phone users with an easy and quick way to check bus departure times at thousands of stops across the city.
